The Regional Investment Corporation (RIC) is heading to the Gascoyne region this month to meet with farmers and farm-related small business owners about how they can benefit from a low-interest loan.
RIC Business Development Manager for WA Steve McDougall will be meeting with farmers, farming small business owners and agribusiness finance specialists in Carnarvon, Gascoyne Junction and Exmouth from 29 September to 1 October 2020 and encourages anyone interested to find out more to make an appointment online.
“We know the Gascoyne region has been hit hard by drought conditions with many properties unfortunately having to rapidly destock, so we expect there will be farmers and farm-related small business owners interested to find out more about our affordable Drought and AgBiz Drought loans,” he said.
“The RIC’s drought-related loans can be used to prepare for, manage through and recover from drought, with customers often refinancing up to 50 per cent of their existing debt to benefit from the affordable terms while they focus on their operations.
“For new loan applications submitted from 1 October 2020, the RIC’s drought-related loans provide five years’ interest only with the current variable rate at 1.92 per cent followed by five years’ principal and interest over a 10-year loan term.
The RIC has established an online booking system, which will make it simple for farmers to secure a time to meet. Or if the times don’t suit then people can contact Mr McDougall via steve.mcdougall@ric.gov.au to organise another time.
“All of our loan guidelines and resources can be found on the RIC website, but often it helps to have a chat face to face. We have an online booking system for appointments that can be found on our website at ric.gov.au/events,” said Mr McDougall.
“I am looking forward to meeting farmers, farm-related small business owners and agribusiness finance specialists and answering any questions they may have.”
