How to apply

Before starting an application, please refer to our checklist below and download our helpful resources.

The online application form requires mandatory information and documents. You must submit all required information before we can start assessing your application and provide an outcome as quickly as possible. After you start an application, you will have 45 days to submit before your draft will expire. You will receive a reminder to complete your application at 10, 20, 30, and 45 days.

You need to check
  • you understand the terms of the loan
  • you can meet the loan eligibility criteria
  • you have read the loan guidelines
  • you have informed your commercial lender you plan to apply for a RIC loan
You need to provide
  • Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • proof of your eligibility (you may be asked about your farm business, financial need, and significant financial impacts)
  • financial statements for at least the past three (3) years
  • your business cash flow budget (template available)
  • your statement of position (template available)
  • what you are offering as security

Document checklist

Certified copies of identity documents must be provided with your loan application. Refer to the Identity Document (ID) guidelines below to review the required ID documents you will need to submit with your application.

We recommend you use the online application form

Only use the offline forms if you prefer to submit your application by email or post. 

Complete these forms on your computer, or print and fill them in by hand using a black or blue ink pen only. 

  • Right click on the link and select 'save target as' or 'save link as' to download the form. 
  • Open the form using Acrobat Reader. Download a free version of  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC software. 
  • Save the application form regularly as you are filling it in. 
  • The form will not work when opened in a web browser or other software, e.g. Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari, Preview.

Tools & templates

You must include your business cash flow budget with your application. We will use this to help assess your financial position, and your ability to repay the loan. If you do not have your own, you can use our template.

A Statement of Position (SOP) outlines the financial circumstance of your farm business. You must provide this with your loan application.

If you are applying for a Drought Loan, you must include a drought management plan with your application. 

Your plan must outline how you will use the loan to prepare for, manage through or recover from drought. 

You can either:

  • attach your own plan to your application 
  • use the template included in the application form 
  • use the standalone template
