RIC (Regional Investment Corporation) is an Australian Government finance provider for farmers and farm-related small businesses. We provide low-cost loans to strengthen Australian agriculture and grow thriving regional communities. RIC farm loans support our customers to prepare, manage through and recover from drought, natural disasters or biosecurity risks causing severe financial disruption. We help accelerate plans for first-generation farmers and next-generation farmers.
Your future at the RIC:
As the Property Valuer you will be working as part of a high performing team and will be responsible for the completion of valuations of existing and proposed RIC securities (Property and Water Licences).
What you will do:
- Complete desktop valuations up to $10M in Market Value
- Escalate higher value valuations to external panel of valuation firms and review completed external valuation reports to ensure they satisfy the RIC's internal policy requirements
- Complete physical inspections in limited instances
- Utilising the Digital Agricultural Services (DAS) software to access highest level of data and analytics
- Creation and tracking of valuation request through RIC's workflow tool and liaising with multiple internal stakeholders in relation to records and data to form part of security process
- Providing quality valuation reports in a timely manner, across diverse markets predominately in the commercial and agricultural asset classes.
- Complete proactive reviews of isolated geographic areas of concern
- Ongoing research of property sales, and report preparation in accordance with relevant legislation and professional association standards
- Undertaking valuations for Mortgagee, financial reporting and acquisition purposes
- Maintaining an understanding of national agribusiness markets
- Meeting valuation and project deadlines to ensure the highest standards of service
- Provision of accurate, timely and objective analysis, advice and recommendations in relation to whole of agency business objectives
- Using expertise to develop formal and informal training and development of staff
- Undertaking other duties as directed

About you
To be successful in this role candidates will have:
- A strong understanding of the valuation processes
- Self-motivation with accurate research & data management capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, with a strong customer experience focus
- Ability to set and control the quality of the reports
- Ability to prioritise workflow internally
- The ability to show initiative, self-motivation, ingenuity, and confidence when dealing with senior executives
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret and critically review research data, and to develop and present into complex reports
- An ability to exercise sound judgement to make decisions within defined parameters, governed by the application of rules, regulations, best practice principles or the RIC’s operating instructions and procedures
- Strong business acumen and organisational skills paired with an excellent eye for detail
- Demonstrated capacity to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships built on trust and mutual respect
- An ability to work under broad direction both independently and collaboratively, with a positive team player attitude
- Superior time management skills with the proven ability to prioritise and manage competing projects and tasks whilst delivering to tight timeframes
Knowledge and experience
To deliver a first-class customer experience, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in rural and commercial property valuation
- Current driver’s license and ability to travel
- Previous agribusiness banking experience or working within a related regional Australian business
- CPV qualification API Membership
- Certificate of Compliance and Risk Management Certificate
